My name is George and I am from the sunny Greece!

I am a cinephile since the tender age of six years old and during my student years all the way back in 2004 I used to write for a local newspaper reviews. Then I discovered blogspot and decided to note down my thoughts on films that I saw on the big screen, something that was a bit inflexible for constant entry writing. Yet modern technology in 2021 provided a cool opportunity to design and maintain my own website. What a brilliant idea I thought?

This is when FilmMining101 was born. I was tired with all the biases that modern “journalists” and so called “film critics” have against genre diamonds or actors and within my limited time, I grabbed the opportunity to create content around the things I liked (e.g., production design, costume, cinematography) and on movies that do not get the attention they deserve.

Films offer more than pure escapism; they are opportunities for inspiration and discovery which can lead to exciting and novel emotional experiences. My favorite directors are Quentin Tarantino and Guillermo Del Toro but I do have a soft spot for the visual/action auteurism of Paul WS Anderson and John Woo! My most beloved genres are action/adventure, martial arts, horror, epics and science fiction. However my top ten films of all time are completely genre scattered! I am also a fond collector of film scores and soundtracks thinking that Graeme Revell, Marco Beltrami and Hans Zimmer are brilliant composers!

I am trying daily to update new content and I apologize in advance if some thumbnails or certain design aspects are clunky! I am doing my best to update everything in time!
